How Breeze messaging works

Last updated 5 September 2026

This page documents every way a person comes to receive text messages from Breeze, what they are told at the moment they consent, and how they stop. It is written for anyone reviewing this messaging program, and for anyone who has received a message and wants to understand why.

Breeze never sends a message to anyone who has not first opted in themselves. Invitations are not sent by Breeze. They are shared by the account holder, through whatever channel she chooses. The first message Breeze sends to any number is the confirmation that follows that person's own consent, given by them, on our own opt-in screen.

Breeze sends notifications only. There is no marketing, no promotional content and no advertising in this program. Messages are sent only when a Breeze account holder acts.

Who Breeze is for

A Breeze account holder is one person using the mobile app. She adds a small number of contacts, at most six, whom she wants to be able to reach. Those contacts install nothing and create no account. They open a private web page.

The opt-in screen

Every person who receives messages from Breeze has passed through the same screen and ticked the same box. It shows the full disclosures above the consent control, the control is not pre-selected, and the person enters their own mobile number rather than having it entered for them.

A working copy of that screen is published here, filled with example data, so that it can be reviewed without needing an invitation.

How a person comes to opt in

Being invited by an account holder

This is how nearly everyone comes to receive messages.

A person who opens the link and does not complete the screen never receives a message of any kind, because we have no number for them.

In person, by QR code

When the two people are together, the account holder displays a QR code. The person scans it, reaches the same opt-in screen, and gives the same consent. The path is identical from that point on.

Resuming after opting out

Someone who has previously replied STOP can resume by replying START, YES or UNSTOP to the same number. They receive one confirmation:

Breeze from Zovia Studio: You are opted in and will receive messages again. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

What every recipient is told

These disclosures appear on the opt-in screen, above the consent control, before anyone agrees to anything:

What the messages say

These are the only messages Breeze sends.

Confirmation, sent once, immediately after the person opts in

Breeze from Zovia Studio: You are set up and will receive messages when the person who added you checks in or asks for help. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

Afterwards, only when the account holder acts

Breeze: Someone you support has not checked in as planned. [link] Reply STOP to opt out.

Breeze: Someone you support needs help now. Open to see where they are: [link] Reply STOP to opt out.

Breeze: Someone you support has sent you a request. [link] Reply STOP to opt out.

Breeze: Someone you support has let you know they arrived safely. [link] Reply STOP to opt out.

Messages never contain the contents of a note, a photograph, a reason, or map coordinates. They carry a short line and a link. They also name nobody: the account holder's name is not stored in a form this system can read, so there is nothing to put in a message even if the wording wanted it.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message. Opting out is immediate and permanent until the person asks to resume. It is handled automatically by our messaging provider, so no reply is ever read by Breeze.

A person can also remove themselves at any time from the web page they were given, without telling the account holder.

Reply HELP for help, or write to support@breezecircles.com.

Mobile information

No mobile information is shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.

Mobile numbers are used to deliver these messages and for nothing else. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Breeze is not an emergency service

Breeze does not contact emergency services and is not a substitute for them. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
